Mission and vision

Faculty of Computer Sciences as an integral part of Uni-Pz offers an opportunity of teaching and appropriation of computer sciences as the main contributor of modern development of humanity and as an opportunity on accessing of Kosovo in flow of global economy.

Vision

The vision of faculty of Computer Sciences of the University of Prizren is qualitative education in computer sciences in accordance with the time trends on this field. This vision will be achieved by entering deeply into studies using others experience and cooperating with other universities in the world of informatics. Students will be provided with satisfying conditions and support in order to afford study requirements.

Why studying computer sciences?

With the knowledge of computer sciences we understand the universe better, we enter into the world of civilization development, we move faster and safer forward. In other words, we conquer the points of knowledge.

There are many specific aspects which make this science so important and so useful for studying.

The Algorithmic Thinking

Computer Sciences focus on discovering and developing of algorithmic or methods which solve problems by getting automated. The algorithmic thinking enables you to appropriate and to solve problems which appear in many life spheres in systematic way.

Designing and making

Computer scientists design and built descriptions (algorithmic) of entirely new processes. These processes can make or bring a world entirely artificial. Different from the real world created by the artists, craftsmen and engineers, the world created by the computer scientists can be entirely virtual. By learning how to design and to do things in computer sciences you will become a better designer and thing-maker in other fields as well.

The Architecture of Information

“Things” which scientists built with the help of algorithm are simple information. Many of them “bite” represent numbers of “real things” such as photos, music sounds and film scenes. The engineers of computers focus on that how to organize and control this information complexity in order to present the reality as better as it can. Capabilities of organizing and managing of information complexity which is brought to the computer sciences are of a particular importance in all the study fields and life activities.

About the Computer Sciences Department – Upz

Faculty of Computer Sciences with the inter-disciplinary access brings methods and appliances of computer sciences on other disciplines and in return it enriches and expands the understanding of researches in computer sciences. This faculty has put cooperation with the enterprises which do activities of this field with the purpose to improve the teaching program. From the beginning of its activity, this faculty provides study programs in accordance with the Bologna Declaration by applying 3+2 program. First three essential years provide student with the Bachelor title, whereas the other two years are advanced Master studies.

If you join the Faculty of Computer Sciences, you as a student or a visitor will be provided a comfortable University environment.

The computer technology is going through many rapid developments and our study programs are designed to supply students with the skills and necessary knowledge in order to answer to these developments. We focus on rather theoretical principles than any technique which can be part of history before you can graduate. We provide you with critical understanding of the actual techniques and those appeared in order you to contribute in future of those sciences.
