Criteria, rules and student’s evaluation procedure1. Introduction This brochure (manual) aims to give advices and it serves as guidance for students related to administrating and direction the evaluation process at the University of Prizren. 2.Student’s responsibilities General Students should be informed of rules and all the policies and actual procedures at Uni-Pz. It is student’s responsibility:
Repeat exams One extra payment should be made for any exam repeat out of the exam terms in every academic year, except if the student takes part for the first time in the exam. Fee taxes Students are expected to pay the fee which is foreseen on the agreement between the parties on specified time. Student cannot be allowed to take part in exam, or to continue in future phase of study or to take the title in the end of studies except if all the financial obligations are finished. 3. The exam rules General Candidates are responsible to present themselves in the exam room on the right time before the exam begins. Candidates should not enter the exam room before they are given instructions by their tutor normally 15 minutes before the exam begins. Candidates should bring their index to make sure their identity and possibility of eventual errors while announcing the results. Candidates will not be allowed to take part in exam without their indexes or identity card or passport. Candidates are responsible of bringing their personal number (no name) in case it is required to be written on materials which will be given. Only the work done in exam room should be delivered. The use o materials can be done only to show references which could be necessary during the exams. Clear definitions will be given before the exam by the monitor’s side before the exam and/or they can be included on a specific rubric on work paper. 3.2 Passing an exam Candidate should gather at least the minimum of points that depend on the subject nature in order to pass the exam and which is equivalent to the grade 6, the gathering of more points – the maximum of points is marked from 7 to 10, whereas 5 is considered as a weak grade and candidate should repeat the exam in future terms. 3.3 Things which are allowed in the exam room Candidates must not take books or use any other material (scripts), calculator, mobile phone or any thing else if it is not pointed out by the monitor or on the rubric of work paper. Coats, bags, mobile phones and similar things should be deposited in a specified corner by the monitor’s side. The University is not responsible of things put on the above mentioned articles. Monitor will control that authorized materials (things) are next to the candidate. If the materials are found or not allowed things are found, the candidate can leave the exam room and be assessed with negative grade. The use of mobile phones or other communication devices are forbidden in the exam room and they should be switched off. Candidates who take part in exams with arithmetic calculations can use calculators or similar help. They should:
Candidates who have doubts on accordance of calculator with the rules or programmed calculator should consult their monitor before taking part in the exam. Candidates are not allowed to take dictionaries with them besides the subjects which are not lectured in Albanian language. Candidates who bring any unauthorized thing in the exam room should inform their monitor before it is discovered by him/her. Candidates who try to get served with forbidden materials during their exam can be taken out from the exam room and that all the exam work to be canceled and to pronounce the punishment. 3.4 The delayed arrival Candidate who arrives late in the exam room will be accepted only during the first 30 minutes.Candidate who comes after 30 minutes of the exam will be accepted but without the additional time for which he/she should give the reason of his delay. 3.5 Coming out the exam room Candidate who wants to go out temporarily for personal reasons he/she should ask his/her monitor for permission and be accompanied by a monitor or another person during his/her absence. Every candidate who goes out the exam room without the permission will be considered as one whom obstinate the exam and his/her entry will not be allowed. Candidate who wants to finish the exam before the pointed time, firstly he/she should draw the monitor’s attention and to give the exam paper to him. He/she should not disturb others when going out the room. In last ten minutes none of the candidates can come out the room. 3.5 The behavior in the exam room In the entrance of exam room candidates become the subjection of the monitors’ authority and should behave according their instructions. Smoking or feeding is not allowed during the exam. Candidates are allowed to take a small bottle of water or candies.Candidates can use only exam materials offered by the monitors. Each additional work should be written and given from these materials. Candidates cannot take anything from these materials, paper of questions can or cannot be taken no matter the monitors\ instructions. Candidates are responsible of being sure that they have the right paper of questions before they start answering them. On the contrary, he/she will be taken away from the exam room. Candidates should not start to write on the exam paper before they get permission from the monitor’s side. During the exam candidates are not allowed to communicate with other people besides the monitors. Candidates should not go out or stand up without the monitor’s permission. Candidates should not consult materials or unauthorized materials, to communicate or to cheat from others or another way of cheating. Each candidate who suspects that others use not allowed forms should draw the monitor’s attention. Candidate who according to the monitor’s opinion causes troubles with no reason and he/she continues after warning will be obliged to the exam room and his/her re-entry will be forbidden. Candidates should be sure that all exam papers be joined and should contain the student\s number or name. In the end of the exam candidates should still sit on their chairs while all the exam papers are given. 4. Breaking the rules What is considered as an academic offence includes any form of improper behaviour, plagiarism related to any knowledge testing way. The University can use any form to notice plagiarism and students can be asked to send their work in electronically cheat and be controlled of any form of academic offence. When something like that is noticed such an issue will be sent to the University Council in order to pronounce measures that will be taken by this Council. If the student is suspicious of using forbidden forms during the exam process, the monitor immediately will:
5. Exam result announcement The exam results are announced one week later than the exam’s date. Results will be announced on the announcement table and on website. 6. The students’ complaints Student can make complaint related to the exam result and he/she should do this not later than one week after its announcement or on its announcement day addressing the complaint to the students ‘affairs office. |
